November knocked on the door this morning and winter lurks only a calendar page away. These days, as many colored leaves litter the ground as glorify the trees. Before nature's colors retreat into drabness, come along with me for one more walk through Tacoma's Point Defiance Park. For this one, you won't even need a sweater.

I visited Point Defiance Park and Fort Nisqually when I was in the fourth grade (1934) at Hillcrest Elementary School in Bremerton, Washington. I still remember riding the ferry, visiting the fort and watching people churn butter. We had some on bread and it was a special thing to me. My new wife has been a fourth grade teacher and she took her kids at Battleground, Washington to Fort Vancouver and they did the same thing with bread & butter. Memories like those are evidently universal in the U.S.
Nice Tour! Thanks for sharing. On a nice day when you'd like to be at the park, but aren't close, this is the next best thing. The park has a rich history, anyone who cares to learn about it will enjoy the legacy.
